CEBU CITY -- The Sun.Star website, at www.sunstar.com.ph, will stream live Friday, November 30, the thanksgiving mass for the sainthood of Pedro Calungsod, a young Visayan martyr who was canonized last October 21 in Rome, Italy.
The live streaming of the mass, which will start at 5 p.m. Friday, can be viewed at www.sunstar.com.ph and specials.sunstar.com.ph/pedrocalungsod, where updates on the life of the second Filipino saint can also be read.
Sun.Star will also cover live starting 9 a.m. Friday the transfer of the pilgrim image of Calungsod from the Shrine of Saint Joseph to Ouano wharf in Mandaue City, as well as the fluvial and foot procession in the afternoon and the arrival of the image at the South Road Properties (SRP) in Cebu City where the mass will be held.

The assembly areas for the foot procession, which will start at 1 p.m., are on D. Jakosalem St. in Cebu City for those coming from Cebu’s north parishes, and Talisay Fish Port in Talisay City for participants from the province’s south.
The fluvial procession from the Ouano Wharf to SRP will start at 2 p.m. Sun.Star will also have a live blog on this event.
The Sun.Star website will also cover live the cultural show and fireworks display after the mass.
The live streaming on Friday will be powered by Smart Communications, through its fourth generation technology, the Long Term Evolution (LTE). This is to ensure fast uploading of high definition videos and photos.
Aside from the thanksgiving mass and other activities on Friday, Sun.Star will also cover live the consecration of the Chapel of Saint Pedro Calungsod at the SRP and the third Triduum Mass to be held at the Shrine of Saint Joseph in Mandaue City around 8 p.m. today, Thursday.
The image of San Pedro Calungsod arrived in Cebu City last Tuesday, November 27, from a nationwide pilgrim visit, officially ending the “Duaw Nasud.”
The first Triduum Mass, which was also streamed live by Sun.Star, happened last Tuesday at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City. The second Triduum Mass was held at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral Wednesday evening, after a motorcade from Guadalupe church.
