There's been a wee bit clutter lately so I was thinking of ways to clean up this board.

Need suggestions from people using this area daily.

One of the things I was thinking of is Topics posted should be just teams , whatever news, opinions , updates comes out of that specific team will be posted in that team post only.

PBA - thinking of making just one post , again whatever PBA related news , opinions , updates should be posted in that part only. Meaning all PBA teams in just one post.

Amateur / Collegiate news - again one post only

Private Leagues news - again one post only

Invites to play locally - again one post only

Off topic / silly comments - warn , infraction , ban - process as follows.

That's a great way to organize the basketball board. Lot's of messy threads whenever I visit here in this section. I support this!

Much better sir KE-25 if you create a specific thread on that category and merged with it. I've always seen members here posting local invites play/tournament, NBA Teams, PBA Teams, College Basketball (Local & US), International (FIBA/Euroleague), etc.

Hopefully members who wants to post in that specific category will direct to it. Everybody wants to be a thread starter which the topic posted is very relevant to the categories/thread present in the basketball section.

I agree , everyone wants to be a thread starter but its getting a lil out of hand , don't see a problem with creating one specific thread and people posting in it. Should make it easier to find stuff relevant. Downside to it is we may not catch current updates on specific topics.

Anyway , i'd like to hear what people have to say about it

We cannot prevent and stop posters especially the Newbies or Junior Members frommaking threads or expect to know the guidelines on this forum . What we can do is to sticky a Directory Thread for all basketball-related discussions . When someone is not sure if there's a Golden State Warriors Thread here , we can only hope that the poster will go on the Directory Thread instead of making a new thread .

I'd love to create a Directory Thread for you and dig up the existing threads here .

Also , there should be a Forum Policy for this section and should be sticky just like on Science Section . If one would start an off-topic or posting an obvious unnecessary post - it would be an automatic infraction . It should send a message across that these stuff are strictly prohibited on this section . That's why it's rare to read an off-topic post on the Science Section compared to other sections here on iStorya .

As for non-NBA discussions ... yes ... PBA , Gilas , PBL , NCAA and etc discussions should be put under one thread . I know we have an Alaska , Ginebra , Junmar Fajardo ,and Dondon thread , might as well be merged to the "Philippine Basketball Association thread" .

As for yearly events to likes of NBA Playoffs , All-Star Game , Finals , Draft ... IMO I think it's important to have a specific thread for that . I'm sure you can lock or delete the thread once that event is over , right ? Once the All-Star Game is over and the NBA resumes their remaining regular season games , that All-Star Game thread should be locked or deleted ... no more conversation about it . If they want continue the discussion , they can take it to the general NBA Discussion (2012-13 NBA Season thread) .

I created a "General Basketball Thread" and it's meant for current events in the basketball world such as FIBA wants to impose age limit , Women Basketball is booming overseas , and etc ... It should serve as a general basketball news .

Faq,

Good suggestions , yes this area needs a Sticky Rules and Guidelines post na. On Directory thread puede , makes it easier for people to find specific threads although one can use the search engine but noticed people seem lazy going over all the results, in a directory page you have all the Teams , other leagues , local so on ...... if its not too much trouble for you create one , let's see how it looks.

Everything else you brought up seem the same as the idea posted , it would be nice to merge all related topics to one , ie PBA , talent , so forth ...

As for new post for current events , ie All stars , Playoffs , Finals so on , that just needs Mod management , good point , as it ends we close.

Let's do it step by step so we do it right the first time we change things for better forum experience.

Again guys , especially the oldies if you have suggestions please post.

Ang problema naa lang jud uban esp. some newbies ug jr members nga dili mobasa ug sticky threads.. Mao lng na ako concern if i-sticky na nga thread.. hehe

With regards to clean up suggestions, Sir KE & old posters - para nako ba ang playoffs ug finals kay dapat usa ka thread ra na sila... siguro tarungon lang ang title like "NBA 2013 Playoffs to The Finals" para masabtan dayon.. technically, "playoffs" nga term as defined already includes the finals, pero kay kasagaran sabot nato sa conference finals ra man na siya kutob kay na-anad nata nga Finals ang term sa championship series.. IMO lng ha..

Yeah , pwede ra pud ang Playoffs Thread , e re-named as Finals Thread kay puro ra man na sila post-season . It needs mod management lang jud nga once human na ang Playoffs , change the thread name to Finals .

Mura'g sakit kaayo sa mata ning mga threads nga wa pa gani tunga sa season , naa nay NBA Finals thread . There should be an appropriate time when everyone should start talking about post-season discussions . For example , 3-4 teams clinched na ila spot sa playoffs .

As for facts , yes , ilang mga claims dapat jud unta supported . Like Science Section . Wa'y ayo ang discussion like "Kita ka ni [x player] saona nga grabe kaayo iya defense/shooting/blocking nga layo ra kaayo kang [y player]" . Ingon ana nga observation kay subjective man na gud . Different man ta ug view sa atong makita sa TV , uban mo agree nga legal ang most screens ni Garnett ug naa pud uban mo disagree ana . Again , subjective kaayo nang arguments based on nakita sa usa ka forumer sa TV . Aron jud quality ang discussions , support jud unta ug legit sources like stats , video clips , and etc diri sa forum .

Basketball section man ni ... di jud ma likayan mo compare jud ta sa mga players , team , and etc . Backed with facts jud labi na daghan na kaayo access sa mga ingon ana sa internet -- let's take advantage on those stuff .

Kanang mga posts like "kanus-a sunod duwa sa [x team]?" or "unsa na'y latest balita aning [x player]" SHOULD be an automatic infraction . Grabe .. ga gamit ka sa internet wala na lang jud ka mo search na lang ?? Kung mangita ka latest balita sa team , wa jud ka ka subsribe sa ESPN , Yahoo or visit lang sa official team site . Also goes sa mangita balita sa player like Japeth , naa may Google Alert , e notify ka in real-time sa latest balita niya as soon nga na publish ning balita sa internet for the world to see .

Keep those suggestions coming. At the end of the week I will be cleaning board , it may look like will be merging all PBA related topics to one , local players solo posts will be going to correct thread ie Aguilar so on .... , Will also be creating Rules and Guidelines which will be on sticky too.

Again , post those suggestion , disagree , thoughts , opinions ... or forever hold your peace.
