Default Some questions about photography and graphics...

I have some questions as an editor and digital artist...I hope to get awesome advice from masters here....hehehe I'll be studying full time soon but still want to learn as early as now..If you have further questions as a new photographer, please add them here...we all want to learn.

    1. I'm so new to dslr, but used photoshop for more than 6 years...digicam2x ra tawn ko's una...
kuan ba, if ever naa mo lingaw2x nga photoshoot with your friends, (but you also like to experiment), do you have to tell the model what/how to pose? Like for example, the model likes igat2x style, but you like korean2x style....?

    2. Is it practical to bring like huge umbrellas, octabox, and tripod (although I don't have them yet) if you are just shooting nga short ra kau ang inyo time to spend for it (due to work and stuff)?

    3. Which is better to use in situations that you need to quickly take photos (RAW or JPEG), like party2x or laag2x then you plan to edit them later nlng?

    4. What do you suggest I use if "I think" I can do better with editing rather than making photoshoot? Work with raw pics or jpeg alone?

    5. What general settings you use anytime to get snapshots or photos with stories as great photographers ?

    6. When can I use burst settings?

    7. Any link you can suggest/advice where I/we can review or check the best settings for certain situation/event?

    8. What is the BEST setting for taking a picture that "I" plan to make as a wallpaper? Kanang himuon gani celebrity style wallpaper?

    9. And lastly, (although it really depends on a person's preference), do you think it's good to use dslr for videos? Any kind of DSLR...

I still have some questions, but I still continue experimenting....I am thanking you in advance hehehe....mag post pa baya ko other questions later ha?

Ubay ubay pa gyud ang angay nimong masabtan bisan dugay na ka nag sige gamit ug software. I suggest make it a foundation ang kahibalo unsaon ug handle ug digital files and their format from digital devices like the camera or scanner. Understand what you really wanted and start with the necessary requirements.

A digital image in RAW file format represents the full digital output of what the device is designed to deliver. Take advantage of it when you want to get the most out of your digital camera. Kung sa panahon wala pa ang digital camera, ang RAW format mao na ang film with the exposed image while ang jpeg format mao na ang prints - processed image on a media projected from a film source. You can do a lot of different good output prints from a film but not from a print.

Also consider a good foundation in handling color profiles (color management) - I believed when you're a digital artist, usa na sa imong foundation nga second nature na when handling digital files across different digital devices.

Tools are there to make your life a lot easier. Make use of them efficiently by knowing their primary purpose. Maximize their use by using them beyond their intended use. Make your own when nothing can answer your demand.

When you are a photographer, learning to "do it right the first time" will surely be your best friend.

It means inig mo pindot ka sa camera aron mohimo ug photograph, mas maayo sakto na tanan ang imong nakita sa viewfinder aron maanad ka nga kada kuha nimo ug photograph maayo ug resulta. Composition, foreground, background ug palibot sa frame in placed na tanan including the light and all the necessary action then diha pa ka mo click. Murag daghan gyud bantayanan pero you can do it in split second kung imong unhan na daan ug hunahuna before the event will happen.

Inig mabaid na ka, ang photographs nga imong gusto humana sa imong hunahuna, igo nalang ka mohuwat sa saktong panahon nga mo occur ang event or maplastar tanan then take that shot. Never settle for a shot nga alanganin ka kay mag salig nga ma edit ra unya. Better take the right shot the first time aron less to no more editing na unya.

If you want to do a lot of editing (adjustments or available flexibility), RAW is best. Again, lesser na ang mahitabo nga editing when you do it right the first time, unless mag transform ka sa photo into something more than a photograph.

    1) YES. before the actual shoot itself, you should have already decided kung unsa inyo plano during the shoot, themes/costume/props, etc. and after, final output.

    2) you can make use of available light lang if budget for and knowledge with light modifiers is limited. golden hours lang.

    3) what is your output medium? if web/monitor lang, you can actually get away with jpeg lang, unless pixel peepers gyd kaayo imo mga friends. at least ready to upload na ang jpeg. RAW will give you more flexibility esp. sa white balance (colour), but you will still have to convert them to an "uploadable" file, jpg/png, an extra step.

    4) work with RAW esp. if you are editing extensively.

    5) there are no specific settings to adhere to. there are only, i would like to call them, guidelines, for example,
landscape: deep dof, low iso; kay you usually want everything to be sharp from here to infinity. xD
portraits: shallow dof, low iso; subject isolation with details
sports: short shutter duration, shallow dof; subject isolation with motion freeze.

but again, these are just guidelines, you can break them for all we care. basta you know the basics lang jd:

    aperture: dof
    ISO: grain
    shutter speed: motion/freeze

all three, affect the light that goes into your camera sensor. naa pay composition, white balance, focus to take note.

    6) usually, you use the burst settings when you want to take photos in rapid succession, like in football. another is when your hands are trembly, you can use the burst settings to ensure na at least usa sa imong mga kuha kay sharp.

    7) there are a lot of materials sa web, text or video.
Learning about Exposure – The Exposure Triangle

i can also recommend this video: foundation of photography: exposure sa lynda.com

correct exposure, RAW, full resolution kay ang dako, pwede pagamyan, pero ang gamay, kung padak-on, naay penalties.

    9) not into video, but i've seen alot of videos na ang gigamit kay mga dslrs, quality is great for my needs. so if your camera shoots video, use it and see how it goes.
