Hi pips, need your input unta on what mcse book should i buy. I don't have an industry experience so it means I'm a fresh meat..hehe..but i wana learn unta. I've been also taking up cisco classes so nko background technical stuff gamay..hehe..

Its 7 exams, were do you wanna start? Windows Server - i'd agree with Joco, start with MS Press study guides and dont forget to read Windows Internal by By Mark E. Russinovich, David A. Solomon.

Networking books go for SYNGRESS publishing, they publish the best book for me. Real world and practical.

since you wanna be MCSE... go to www.microsoft.com/traincert, the site helped me a lot when I was starting. It provides tracks for you to follow. DBAs are also hot these days and security too. :mrgreen:

@tjyrna: don't you want to join in instructor-led courses for MCSE?

i suggest you start with MCDST then MCSA then finally....MCSE. if you have the potential to be a trainer, be an MCT, too. :mrgreen:

k..now i know where to start.mcdst is the first step then,,coz i'm working in a call center and don't think i would last long in this job.so is there a skul that u cn recommend then?or its better to read books nlang..most of mcdst books are of winxp man..k rna?

It would vary depends on your study and learning habits. I recommend instructor-led courses. It allows you interaction with other students. And instructor can assist you if you have questions.

If you're ok with just reading books, then the Microsoft Press books would be enough. But it doesn't give you the benefits of information sharing from other students and instructors.

I've done both instructor-led courses and books. Both works for me.

If you have questions during your studies, just feel free to post it and I know there's a lot of certified people on this forum to assist.
