    Default HELP!!! Nikon 35mm f1.8 or Tamron 17-50mm f2.8

    Need your help/advice on this.

I'm currently using Nikon D5000 with my 18-55mm kitlens, 55-200mm for my telephoto and 35mm prime for my walk around anyday lens.

I use my camera mostly on special occasions/gatherings and during my travel/vacation. I'm using my 35mm prime 80% of the time. I love the glass, bokeh + sharpness! My problem is it's versatility when it comes to indoors (where room is tight to take a group shot), and also sometimes when I want to take a landscape shot (I have to change to my kitlens). Aside from that, all positive.

Should I go for the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8? (sell my 35mm and kitlens)
Is it a smart move? I haven't tried Tamron yet.

forgot to mention, I'm also using nissin di622 mII, and it works very well esp indoors.. pero naa lng jud times like for example sa restaurants na tight kaau ang tables, lisod esulod sa frame whole group.. But 35mm prime is a very good lens jud, walay mahay.. hehe nag ask lng ko advice if in my case, mas nindot ba jud ang tamron..

Sell the 18-55, but keep the 55-200 and the 35mm

Usually third party brand mo depende nah some lens nindot some bad, fortunately the 17-50 daghan ug positive review, naka test pud ko ana nga lens, yes it's sharp, fast (2. but focusing is a little slower (comparing to Nikon)

best option in my opinion is gamiti ang flash and kit lens in tight low light situation. unless you're a pixel peeper di kaayo nimo ma notice and difference, even in small prints like 4R or 5R...

at what aperture do u want to take ur group shots?? reason i asked is because you mentioned about tight areas, im thinking that if u want to get everybody sharp in a tight shot you'll be using F4-F8, no need for Tammy's F2.8. ur 18-55 kitlens + flash can do that for you.

indoor group shots? why use 35mm? use ur 18-55 + external flash, solve naka ana.
if u are planning to get the 17-50 jud, sell ur 18-55, keep the 35mm & 55-200.

Agree ko ani...though I own the tammy as well as the 35mm, seldom ra nako magamit ang tammy....gamit kaayu ang 35mm 80% sa akong shoot....magmahay ka kung ibaligya nimo ang 35mm..

In my case, una lang nko na acquire ang tammy 17-50...but when I got held the 35mm, wala na gyud sya natangtang since nataod nako last May....ang tammy gina swap swap lang nako with my other lens sa isa nako ka cam....

Magmahay ka kung i-let go nimo ang 35mm sir....
