Default Problem with iPod?; “The disk could not be read from or written to.”

I just recently encountered an annoying error when I was using iTunes 7. It nearly made me really frustrated of what was wrong with my iPod shuffle. It kept on posting an error message saying "The disk could not be read from or written to." when I try to put music to my iPod. I know that there is nothing really wrong with my iPod since I can still copy any files to it, its just that iTunes is not able to sync with my iPod. I just read a thread.

I guess iTunes 7 has problems with windows or is it general? i dunno but im using winamp now to sync with my iPod.

QUICK Steps to solving this problem.
    1. download the iPod updater and restore settings, deleting everything.
    2. Install and re-run iTunes to setup the iPod initially. Do not apply any settings or upload music.
    3. Show Apple the middle-finger and REMOVE iTunes completely.
    4. Install Winamp (Deluxe free version) and the iPod plugin ml_ipod (from here: http://www.mlipod.com/)
    5. Go into the Media Libray (or hit alt+l), the iPod should be showing up under devices, and right click to set options.
    6. Add music to winamp’s library and drag and drop to the iPod

it worked for me…my once thought useless iPod is working great again!

apple better fix that issue, coz its driving iPod owners nuts.... peace!
finally im done with solving the problem.... whew...

Just posting this incase someone is having problems with their iPod. Glad to help those who are in need.
