    Default Freedom of Information Bill

Philippines: Freedom on Information Act Draft Bill - the 2010 edition

Proposed substitute Freedom of Information bill of 2012 | Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines

Alas! This bill has been brought to life again. I just heard a news from TV Patrol done by Ted Failon about this bill. He will be doing a special segment in his TV show Failon Ngayon tomorrow afternoon.

1.) Para ninyo, should this bill be passed into law or not? & Why?
2.) Post your insights, experiences or conspiracy theories?

    Let the discussions begin!

I skimmed through the bill.. more or less iyang intention is for full disclosure sa tanan government agencies and officials with respect to SALN, mga Budget, Decisions etc... There's really no reason why anyone would object to this bill unless they are trying to hide something or they are concerned about sensitive info.

Ako lang pangutana is.... most of the information karon is accessible naman sa public. Hearings are open to the public and these public records can be accessed by anyone who searches for it.

Can anyone who is more familiar with the bill discuss what changes will happen once ma pass na ni ang bill?

I was one of the people who signed a petition for this bill. and YES! it should be passed and approved! Kay ngano? Unsa may taguan nga every Filipino has the right to know what the government is doing.

For me the only exception to this bill, is "National Intelligence Information." But kanang mga government transactions..hala...ilad lad na para kita ang katag!

Useless Law since you will still be given a run around by the government offices you will be requesting......
