    Default starsailor

my newest favorite musicmaker is the british band called starsailor. actually dugay na man diay ni sila. they've released two albus already and i'm going to buy them soon. i was just browsing over amazon.com and previewed their songs. they sounded really good and after hearing the full-length clips of their songs from their official site (www.starsailor.net), ganahan na dayon ko nila.

truly british rock is exceptionally good.

i haven't bought their albums but i saw both for sale in a record bar. it's good bargain and i'm definitely buying both. they sound more pop than most UK bands these days but i like their lyrics and their melodies. i saw their videos and so far, my favorite is born again. it's set in dim light and it has more drama to it.

Actually bai, they don't sound pop at all... most of the songs are very slow and dragging (katung sa akong na palit na album)..

i like the vocalist's voice though. in their official website, there are some songs that are featured (full-length) but are not featured or found in their two albums. i hope they release a new material soon. i can't wait to her new stuff. i've had a few listens to both their albums. i bought both albums (cassette format) last august 13 at odyssey records ayala center cebu.

i love these two albums. starsailor is indeed one of the quality bands these days. they live up to the expectation i have for most british bands. their songs are soulful and affect you in a melancholic, melodramatic, neck-hair-raising way.

their debut album called love is here was called anxious, soulful, folk-and-urban-blues-nuanced according to amazon.com's reviewer kevin maidment. the album contains potent melodies about love, death, angst, and loneliness. it's a type of album that you can listen from start to finish without feeling that you've heard some fillers. all songs are quality and really connect you from one song to the next without losing consistency.

their second album called silence is easy, which happens to be the latest so far, is a bit more upbeat than their first one which was more acoustic. their "disco" hit called foor to the floor is one of my faves with that catchy symphony in the background. my favorite so far is the song called born again. these days, everytime i go internet surfing, i always visit their official site and play that song in the background. it gives you that soothing, reflective mood.

i still have to make more listeing sessions before i can appreciate these two albums in their entirety but i'm a fan from now on. i can't wait to listen to their third album. hopefully it comes out this year. to all those who are looking for nice bands to listen to, try starsailor. your money will be worth it. now i'm saying you buy the original. there ain't pirated versions available cos they're not that famous here...there could be somewhere in the 7,100+ islands of this archipelago but they're very rare. why go for fakes anyway.
