i only played 4 sa PS2 and 5 sa PS3. though naa ko copy sa 2 and 3 sa akong psp, wala pakoy plan na duwaon sila. nindot bitaw kaayo ang trailer sa 6. murag action na jud kaayo bah.

Played Resident Evil: Revelations. Planning to get RE 4 HD remake.

Hoping lang gyud ko nga mu-stick ang RE to survival-horror, not survival-action.

yeah, i liked it better karong survival horror pa sila. RE3 was my favorite game back then.

but i'm still a fan of the series.

Played all but the wake RE5 and beyond. Also played those spinoff titles like Dead-Aim, Outbreak series, even the Gun Survivors as well. Not bad at all, really.

I consider RE:2 my favorite because of the plot-twists, the characters and setting. To me, the 2nd one really felt complete in a way. The extra stuff is also another reason why I speedrun the hell out of it (the RE:2 knife-only challenge!)

My least favorite (from what I played so far, anyway) would have to be RE:4. I admit that the visuals look pretty stunning the new and darker RE Appeal seems great and all but the gameplay mechanics seemed a bit 'off' for me. I know, it ain't the typical 'RE Survival Horror' feel anymore and around that time in gaming when RE4 was released a game cosmetics felt right that time. I have no rebuttals on the matter.When I first played the game, it was on a PS2 and it just didn't feel right. And I think I have a pretty good idea why RE:4 played better in GC/PC/Wii than in the PS2:

The Controls. Why, you ask? Well. . .

While the over-the-shoulder-thing seemed like a 'good' idea, I think that ultimately it was supposed to be played with the GC controller or mouse (for PC ver.) in mind. Since your controlling the character from the shoulder, handling him/her would be an easy task since aiming or even viewing the area with the GC controller's yellow analog seems pretty smooth (I actually bought a GC controller for my Wii) and obviously the mouse works similarly without hassle. But on the PS2 Dualshock 2 controller feels pretty stiff and aiming on enemies is even more annoying IMO. While the GC Controller looks a bit childish and weird--google it if you want to know what it looks like, surprisingly handles pretty well for RE:4 compared to the PS2. As for the PC version of RE:4 well. . .I can't really be sure but the mouse and GC controller have the same feel. Mas-smoother pa siguro ang mouse since optical man iya movement--good for games that require a lot of aiming ERGO this game. Controlling over the Dualshock really felt annoying for me since the character moves a bit sluggish and I get blindsided most of the time because of its stiffness with the PS2 analog. Although I have no copy of the actual GC version of RE:4, I DO however have The Wii Edition of RE:4 plays pretty much like the GC counterpart AND there's a classic GC Controller mode, as well. That's how I summed it up that the GC/PC/Wii version of RE:4 is better than the PS2 port--and why I got a GC Controller for my Wii, hehehe. And the Wiimote controls even makes the game more manageable since the wiimote is pretty accurate in aiming and the QTE events are a lot better than pressing random buttons off a Dualshock/GC Controller. It probably plays like the PC vers., I guess since the Wiimote has that AIM-mechanic in the game and the nunchuk is navigate and its motion-plus option for QTE.

I'm not patronizing Nintendo or Sony or even RE:4 in general btw, but I do think that RE:4 plays better in GC/Wii/PC than the PS2 because of the controls. But that's just me, anyway.

I think RE:1 is still the best in the series because survival horror was still a new idea back then and being stuck in a large creepy ass haunted mansion had a chill factor that the new games can't match. The newer REs have evolved into more of a shooter type of game and they've made the locations way too large taking away some of that claustrophobic feeling of being stuck in a smaller place. The signature set piece of the game for me has always been the RE:1 mansion: a tight, compact space that fits the survival horror theme like a glove.

I'm looking forward to RE:6 because I like the idea of zombies in China but I still think these games are missing the original spirit of RE which is survival horror. Now they just feel like Killzone with zombies...

i think ma change na jud ang RE into an action-survival horror. for me man pud the video game system improves and it deserves that the game will improve as well specially the geography goes broader. deserving jud kaau as i watched the trailer and suck at those movie makers who destroys the image of RE. yeah.. i'm preferring to the spin-off movies. hehehe. the game is a one of a kind. story, plots, gameplay, etc.

i just remember when the first time i played RE GunSurvivor in PS1. I've beat the game without running (holding square button) coz i didn't know until I visited options menu. haha

i'm hoping for the team silent hill will do something. their late games suck. talking about downPOOR. D:

My main problem with RE sequels is that none of them can beat the story from the first one. In the first RE we had no idea what was going on in the beginning so there was a great mystery that you had to slowly uncover and this made exploration more involved. Umbrella was also a largely unknown organization and it wasn't until near the very end when you found out who they were. In the newer games, everyone knows umbrella is always the bad guy and there's hardly anything we don't already know about the T virus that you didn't already know from the first game. This isn't the fault of the developers it's just what happens with sequels especially when the first game was that good.

I'm still looking forward to RE:6 but I don't think it'll beat the original.

i don't think i can compare the original RE's and the present one's. as i said earlier that the game has evolve. both gameplay and the story... so it really has changed. but still it has the same feel of a scary video game experience. main thing is killing zombies, and the story as well

I don't think the story has evolved at all. What's in the newer RE that wasn't already revealed in the original? We have the T-virus, umbrella, zombies.. I dunno I haven't played all of them, but the ones I've played haven't made huge changes to the story. The bad guys are the same bad guys, the virus is the same T virus etc etc....

Gameplay wise, no question things have changed. But that doesn't mean they can't be compared. This is the same series after all, it's still Resident Evil.
