What is a good replacement for 18-55 lens?

Hi guys!

I have a Canon Kiss X 4 which came with an 18-55 Kit lens. I also recently bought my own 50mm prime lens and am very happy with.

What I'm not happy about though is the limited focal length of my kit lens. I want to take shots from a distance, but buying a telephoto means I have to constantly change lenses and I'd like to avoid that.

Any good replacement for an 18-55 lens? I kind of want an all around lens. Is 18-135 or 200 any good? Thanks much!

18-55 is a good lens gyud, if only it can fit in to my FF and 1.3X crop sensor bodies I will hold for that lens.

I would suggest you buy EF-S 10-22 + 70-200 f4 or f2.8. EF-S 10-22 can be modified to fit in into FF and 1.3X bodies.

Canon 18-200 nalng if ma kaya...

pro - is flexible kaayo ka sa range and naa siya IS
con - noisy & bulky(might not be a problem sa uban)

quality of pix.. so-so.. it's a kit lens nag cherifer.. canon nalng para wai libog.. selective kaayo na ang mga 3rd party lens...

Personally, I don't mind the noise pag mag autofocus. I just need a longer range from the 18-55 pero if so so lang japun, maybe I'll probably have to go with another lens as opposed to selling off my 18-55 to buy an all around...what do you guys think?

I would keep the kit lens for now and get one of the 70-200L lenses. Depending on your budget you can start with a F4.0 non-IS or IS.Or spend a bit more and get one of the 2.8's.
I'm using a 70-200L2.8 non IS and I'm very happy with it.
