Ang budget tablet PC (Averatec C3500).Works as a decent laptop. Converts to a Tablet PC, making possible screen inputs via a stylus. Potential applications include student interactivity and certain editing and annotation activities. One can get pretty creative with this equipment. Includes DVD+CD-RW combo, 802.11g, AMD Athlon XP-M2200+, 512 MB DDR, 60GB HD, and 12.1" TFT. Not a gaming machine, but it does a pretty decent job for entry-level and related uses. One bad aspect that sticks out: battery life is really, really, really bad (around 1 hr, and that's just running MS Word)... This would have been a perfect budget, entry-level convertible if it weren't for the anemic battery life. Maybe the next gen models will be better. Edit: recently had to RMA due to some CMOS battery problems as documented by other users. Averatec will probably replace the mobo.
A laptop.

and snaps into place with screen orientation already in "portrait" mode. Then a TabletPC.
