Asus vs Gigabyte: OC battle for i7 Ivy Bridge 7 GHz supremacy

Just yesterday “HiCookie” showed off his YouTube video of his 7.03GHz overclock of an i7 3770K Ivy Bridge using a Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H board and liquid nitrogen, but today we found another validation of the same CPU at 7.07GHz using an Asus Maximus V GENE by Andre Yang.

A big difference between Yang’s and Cookie’s validation was that all the cores were enabled on the Asus board, whereas, half the cores were disabled on Cookie’s Gigabyte board. Yang achieved his clock using 1.92V of juice, and Cookie pumped in 1.956V. Both achieved the insane clock with a multiplier of x63.

There's no reason to believe that these two are the only ones that achieved 7+GHz on their respective platforms, and I won't be suprised if there's going to be a 7.1 GHz i7 Ivy Bridge OC validation soon. Reference: hothardware.com, asus.com

hehehehe... nahakihumdum man hinoon ko last 1999... during my 1st work sa Fairchild-Semi dha sa mepz 1... na tintal ko ug sawo sa nag tulo na LN2... sus, isa ka tulo ra... mega sakita... paso ang palm nako... bwahahahaha... dah, gusto man makahibaw kun usa ka sakit ang LN2 na ma touch sa panit... harharharhar...
