The ultra compact fanless PC market has just seen the addition of a new entry from VIA sporting the company's tiny EPIA-P900 Pico-ITX board.
The new VIA AMOS-3002 combines VIA's 1.0GHz Eden X2 dual core processor with its HD media capable VX900H media system processor (MSP) on the aforementioned board, making it an attractive option for situations like in-car infotainment.
Its completely fanless, all-passive operation combined with a super small footprint and the ability to smoothly run 1080p content will be the major selling point of the AMOS-3002.Running dimensions of just 19.7 cm x 10.4 cm x 4.9 cm (WxDxH) with its robust chassis that can withstand tons of abuse in terms of temperature and shock, the unit is packed with a solid array of connectivity including dual Gigabit ethernet, optional 3G & WiFi via a MiniPCIe expansion slot, Cfast slot and room to house a 2.5-inch HDD. Adding to that are a couple COM ports, six USB 2.0 ports, line-in and outputs, a DIO port, VGA and HDMI.

Comprehensive I/O functions on front and rear panels make the AMOS-3002 a flexible solution for a wide range of embedded applications. Front I/O includes, two COM ports, one Cfast slot, four USB 2.0 ports, including two lockable ports for increased ruggedization, line-in/out, and one DIO port, while rear I/O includes, one VGA and one HDMI port, two GLAN ports for dual Gigabit networking and a further 2 USB 2.0 ports.
