Default Ivy Bridge proven to suffer from poor thermal grease

Intel has as yet to offer a full explanation as to why it changed the way its interfacing the IHS with the CPU die on its Ivy Bridge processors and previous reports weren't clear on how much of an effect Intel's move to using thermal grease had on the actual cooling performance. Thankfully Japanese website Impress PC Watch has come to the rescues and done some testing by itself and the publication has clearly proven that Intel's thermal interface material isn't up to scratch.

Intel: You don't like our CPUs? go to AMD!
    Consumer: -silence-

    = and we have monopoly!

answer: bring some A game AMD!

No it's not the TIM...the design itself has bugs.

Did you read the article posted?

It says that they replaced it with OCZ's Freeze Extreme and Liquid Pro and they got a difference of 20c @ 4.6Ghz.. From 84c its now down to 64c.

Intel - reason why we got high temps on Ivy because we don't have a competitor on this area, even on SB's 2500k and 2600k.
    so AMD bring it On!.hahahahaha...

btw - murag naa gyud gamay problema sa ilang design..huwat nalang gd ta sa 2nd gen nla...nya mag huwat pud me sa inyong SB's kung gusto namo mag shift.

3rd gen nmn ang IB nganu balik pman sa 2nd, maybe you mean next stepping.

btw what design flaw are we talking about? the only design flaw i see from a pure cpu performance is that IGPU occuping ALOT of space that is suppose to be intended for a CPU. I mean, IGPU's performance are no where near to a discrete GPU performance (as of today, i might eat my words in the future), so why the hell bother putting that b.s there lol.

design flaw? it was designed that way so it's not a flaw. if you don't want integrated graphics then go for the SB-E platform. iGPU will occupy significant space of course, just like AMD's APU's... and for now you can't scale that down further.

and it's not b.s., that iGPU works for its purpose and it's not meant to be compared with a discrete GPU... why bother? because it works like charm and somebody actually uses and needs that and count me in for that.
