SUCCESS! currently using latest CyanogenMod 7.2 Nightly(dated 2012-04-21 06:17:54) CyanogenMod Downloads on my LG Optimus One 2.3.3 v20g. so far so good---will test how long battery will last using its default settings for now, stock 2.3.3 hardly last 24hrs on standby, about 40% left by end-of-day when using with JuiceDefender Ultimate, mostly txting and about 10% wifi use.

Im not sure why flashing ROM would alleviate your battery woes... Normally, a simple stock rooted ROM can also help you keep up with your battery power by installing Titanium Backup and uninstalling /freezing stock apps that came bundled with your phone...

Aside from cosmetic and UI effects, for me, Custom Roms are no better than the stock ones.. In fact, it might open some issues that you would not normally get on stock rom... FYI... Rooting and removing stock bloated apps(that takes a load on your battery) is the easiest way to maintain phone's battery life...

2.2 stock has better battery backup than 2.3 on this phone model, tested on another Optimus One and some comments from other sites/forums... i would have opt for downgrading, wa lang ko kita klaro link download or guide for v10 baseband(kdz has many reported brick phones)
