I'm doing lots of freelance work online(Odesk) and sometimes you can't help but encounter people who will not pay you for all your hard work. I came across this website because I wanted to file a report. This will be a permanent record online and helps to warn people of scammers on the net.

If you file a report on unpaid work, send a copy to the person involved and ask them politely that the record will stay unless you get compensation. A legit business or anyone caring for their reputation will surely do the right thing. I had one employer who refused to pay the remaining balance and after I showed him my report, he quickly paid me.

Yep I'm careful at Odesk to pick only clients that pay hourly. The others want fixed price jobs but there's no guarantee of payment.

Dili ko odesk bai pero fixed rate ako tanan. So far wala pamay badlungon na employer.

I'm wary of fixed price especially if they refuse to give atleast 15-20% advance. Odesk doesn't do arbitration so if you don't get paid you can't do anything.
