Palludariums and vivariums

I just started building palludariums. I have had a couple up and running for the past few months. Anyone into this type of set up for their pets? A palludarium is basically a vivarium with both water and land set ups. Show me your setups. I will post mine once I figure out how to post pics. I'm keeping freshwater/semi terrestrial crabs in mine.

this is one of my finished projects



on the water part, which is stained rich by tannins, live a trio of fundolopanchax killifish and a trio of betta coccina. I have a baby bristlenose pleco to get rid of unwanted food. for the land part, I am waiting for my geosesarma notophorum (mandarin crab) babies to grow up. that will be their new home. : )



this is the current home of my mandarin crabs. the female just had babies and it is so cool to see the baby crabs climb on top of her shell, piggyback style. I think this is only one of two species of crabs that demonstrate this type of behavior. on the water part, i have 4 dwarf pea puffers, and 4 gertrudae rainbowfish. and just today, i added two panther crabs. these are freshwater crabs from lake matano in sulawesi. really cool freshwater crabs with a dotted shell/carapace. they say they give birth to fully formed young crabs. I am hoping to breed them. I think I have a male and female but I am very unsure. I will know for sure once they start having baby crabs. Or maybe not. No one has yet bred these in captivity that I know of. I would like to take more pics especially of the crabs, but they hide a lot. they build underground tunnels on the land part of the vivarium and that is where they spend most of their time.
