Creative has just announced a couple new pairs of headphones, the HN-900 and Aurvana X-Fi 2, both with active noise cancelling that promises reduced ambient noise by up to 85%. Both sets feature 40mm Neodymium magnet drivers that Creative says will give precise, crystal clear sound with a frequency response range of 20Hz to 20 kHz.
The HN-900 comes with an in-line mic which can be used in conjunction with an iPhone for convenient single-click voice communication. A single AAA alkaline battery can provide active noise-cancellation for up to 40 hours, or there's the option of running in passive mode without the need for power.
Shifting focus to the more feature rich Aurvana X-Fi 2 headphones, incorporated within is Creative's proprietory virtual sound technology in the form of X-Fi CMSS-3D along with X-Fi Crystalizer which promises to deliver a more immersive listening experience. Also powered by a single AAA battery, the peripheral's active noise cancellation is said to work for up to 9 hours with all features turned on."The Creative X-Fi Crystalizer utilizes algorithms to make any digital audio sound better by intelligently and selectively restoring the highs and lows that were lost during MP3 or other compression. The Creative X-Fi CMSS-3D virtually transforms stereo headphone playback into the more immersive listening experience of a surround sound speaker system. Users can independently select noise cancellation, X-Fi Crystalizer, X-Fi CMSS-3D and volume with convenient controls on the headphones. All of the technologies can be enjoyed together for up to nine hours from two AAA batteries. The headphones can also be used without audio technologies in passive mode."Creative lists the HN-900 noise-canceling headphones at the MSRP of US$99.99, while the Aurvana X-Fi noise-canceling headphones will be arriving sometime later this month for US$199.99.
