If it's a movie you want to copy, you can use DVD shrink to rip out unneeded parts of the DVD like french sound, extras, etc.

Use DVD shrink or DVD decrypter to remove the extras... if the main movie file is actually greater than 4.7 GB (most anamorphic widescreen DVDs) you can use DVD shrink to compress it, but video quality will be affected.. You can use DVDFab to split the entire movie into 2 DVD-Rs...
