Review: Samsung Galaxy S2

I just got myself a Samsung Galaxy S2 and so far I have been loving it! I wrote a lengthily review on my blog and I have also made a 16 minute video review of the device. Here's a snippet from my review article. Tell me what you guys think of the review too - Read the Review Here

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is a beast, a monster, a powerhouse, someone on an energy drink; I can keep on writing adjectives for the next few minutes, however, I’ll be straight with you. This phone is gracefully awesome! I have had the Samsung Galaxy S2 for the past month or so. I have tinkered around with to the point that it already has a few scratches in spite of the screen protector.

At first glance, one can get blinded by its “pure awesomeness”. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is probably one of the slimmest Smartphones in the market right now, sexier than the rounded Apple iPhone 4S. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is only 8.5mm in height and barely weighs anything at only 116G. The design of the Smartphone is curved, similar to its brother, the Samsung Galaxy S.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 has one of the fastest processors on the market at this time of writing. The dual-core 1.2GHZ processor probably out performs most of the first netbooks which were released back in 2008. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is in fact a full scale personal computer in terms of performance. It practically can play all graphic intensive Smartphone games flawlessly and with its massive 1GB of RAM, more than half a dozen applications can be opened and managed efficiently.

I am ardent viewer of the Galaxy S reviews from some popular websites e.g. engadget,gsmarena, phonearena,pocketnow, techradar and etc, and nowhere I have found the most comprehensive reviews yet so far than yours... You truly made one heck of review.. even surpassing those reviewers on the websites I mentioned above.

Nevertheless, there are some points that I would like to stress on your S2 review.

I noticed that you sometimes get to off-topic in stressing the important features and functions of the phone. I would say, stick to what is being reviewed and not what-nots.

Secondly, I would appreciate if you can also perhaps next time, make a comparison review of the S2 over the iphone 4s or perhaps the moto razr or the HTC Sensation XE.. Any good reviews is worth noting if there is a better comparison on the phone reviewed up against other smartphones out there... their HIGHs and LOWs and etc...

Lastly, It would also be worth really trying to partake or use those features while reviewing the said phone. For example, You may have run the stock browser test to up the ante on how fast it loads and cache the page. Or turning off the phone and see how fast or slow the booting time of the phone.. (instead of just staring at the homescreen all the time, which I notice on this review)

Anyway, vis-a-vis... it is a great review nonethless, and I am looking forward for your next review again..

Hey J.Abz! Your comment brightened up my day! Thank you for those points.

I actually had a hard time focusing on the Samsung Galaxy S2 as I am using a Canon 550D DSLR to shot my review videos. So one hand is on the phone, the other is on the manual focus ring trying to get the perfect focus. Nevertheless, you are right and I should have dived into the individual applications of features of the phone instead of boringly staring at the home screen most of the time.

In regards to your phone comparison, I would have loved to compare the Galaxy S2 to some other phones, however, since this is my first Smartphone to personally own, I have yet to fully test phones such as those you have mentioned. Nonetheless, I am hopeful that I will be getting a few phones in the future to review, so that won't be a problem.

Again, thank you for your advice, pointers and tips! I really do appreciate the feedback I am getting from you guys. Much appreciated!
