need your opinion guys! dms pos company offering cheap pos software in the market is saying in one of there online ads

According to a friend who purchased there software which she is not using now but they still advertise as there client that she was convinced that DOS base is better, stable and secured than windows based developed programs.
what happen was laging nag tetechnical error, the data base .dbf file can be opened by excell and worst difficult to contact if you have questions.
anyways, is dos really better than windows based?
