Cannot boot to Mint 10 on working HD after deleting partition in primary Windows HD

1TB HD - Windows7
250GB HD - Linux Mint 10 Julia

LinuxMint10 was installed inside windows7 before the primary 1tb hd encountered bad sectors. i unfortunately and accidentally deleted the whole partition for the 1tb hd with windows installed on it and i forgot that i installed installed linux inside windows that time, and i was thinking that maybe the MBR was in that HD. I am getting the message "Insert boot device" error after POST. Does anybody know how to install or fix the MBR on the hard drive where the Linux Mint 10 is? (or MBR is only in Windows and is it called GRUB in Linux?)..

bai, try boot your system with a live usb/cd then do the following..

1. sudo mount /dev/sda? /mnt (change ? with the linux partition number)
2. sudo grub-install --root-directory=/mnt /dev/sda

Dili naman na nimo kailangan e replace ang #2 boss, mao gyud na siya ang syntax. Ang partition number ra gyud sa #1 imo ilisdan.

ill take note of the error message sir kay naa ko sa office ron kay wla ko other device for internet access sa hauz... clarify lang nako sir ha, boot to the Live CD sa desktop environment jud sa Mint 7 then run terminal then dd2 i type ang commands? kay mao na ako gbuhat na nagka error ko sa command #2...
