I've been to Vigan twice (work coupled with leisureon the side...hehe). To get there is a choice between a plane ride or bus ride. With plane ride, It's kinda expensive plus the fact that it wont bring you to Vigan but instead to Laoag, which is still like 1-2hrs away from Vigan. To get there by bus would obviously be least expensive but be physically and emotionally prepared because it around 8-10 hours of travel! You just can't imagine how that sucks! Although I went there twice with using a private car with a driver, i still feel the hassle inspite of the fact that we can always instruct our driver to stop and stretch ourselves. It really is a painstaking travel to Vigan so prepare yourselves (oh in your case...yourself).

If you plan for just a 2-3 days being there, then 1 day is already allotted to traveling. Not to discourage you, Vigan has lots to offer...but not worth the travel. Though I would suggest, if you still wish to go there, hire a vehicle. In this way, you can enjoy every scenery on your way to Vigan. At least sulit pud nga dili lang Vigan ang imong mga pictures. There are lots along the way! Good luck!

Oh and by the way...there isn't any problem with your question on where to stay...there are quite a lot of choices from high end to very cheap hotels and yet still decent. For a more eerie effect, there's Villa Angela (known to be the location for several local and international films)...but mind you...the structure itself will give you goosebumps. In fact a friend of mine who has a third eye went so pale...when we went outside, he said he saw something...(you know what I mean). but if this is your idea of fun...then perfect.

Just hope to get there in the day so you can have time to stroll around and ask various accomodations that suits your budget and taste.

if I may, the bus trip is an adventure enough esp if you take Maria De Leon or partas. Nothing like them in Cebu e.g., bus with CR or bus with only 3 luxurious seats per row. best to fly Cebu-Clark kay cheaper then take those buses (coming from Manila) from the Dau bus terminal in Angeles. Lots of `something diffrent to see` kung bisdak ka! Here's an example.

since Vigan is quite far, you might also want to visit Pagudpud and Laoag, if your travel time permits, para sulit imo plete ug byahe from Cebu to that part of the country
you can go to Manila from Cebu by plane

then, if you wish to visit Vigan only, you can take a Partas bus with a Manila-Vigan route. i think their bus terminal is in Cubao

if you have enough time to visit Pagudpud and Laoag, you can take the Florida sleeper bus which travels at night and arrives in Pagudpud early morning. you can stay overnight in one of the resorts in Pagudpud. then take a bus to Laoag the following morning, tour Laoag. take another bus bound for Vigan. tour Vigan then take a night bus back to Manila.

i agree with the answers to your thread TS just dont forget visit baluarte by Chavit tricycle ride ra to and free ra sad and make sure you get dramatic shots in Calle Crisologo even better if you can stay there

If time permits have an adventure in Laoag sad.. they have this awesome off road adventure which in time ill try hehehe.. and if budget permits you can fly from Laoag to Manila its just an hour flight para dili kaayo kapoy..Enjoy
