Default For the Family Oriented People

Well this is for people who really values family(including relatives) above all else. I observed a lot dont anymore, and prefer barkadas, money, etc... which I find sad.

So who else here is very family oriented? Who cant live without family... Who feels depressed after the end of every after reunions...

    I know Im one...

I'm away from my brothers and sister but we still have the time to say Hi on the phone once in a while. When we were still living in one roof, my brothers are my best friends. We worked together in the farm, my little sister is the cook. I used to go to the dance with my brothers, I hung out with my friends too but my brothers are always their like some bodyguards.
Things will change when you reach into the proper age when you want to have your own place or get married. You can't be there with your family all the time but knowing that they are doing just fine and you hear from them from time to time maybe asking to borrow money, it's okey.. they are my family and my bestfriends.

Then I guess this thread is not for you. This is a thread to give props to ones family despite its problems(and hey youre not the only one, all of us got them), not to complain about them.

^yes, there isn't any problem-free family but to say that all got the same amount of problem is rather unenlightened. there are families where physical and emotional abuse are a daily scene. there are incestuous families. i hope you're not saying everyone's families are like that.

so if one's family has an unhealthy atmosphere (like abuse and incest) and a member chooses to stay away from the "nest" to keep himself sane, but still in his heart loves her family so much, does that make the person NOT family-oriented?

I guess that's what junmar is trying to ask. what do we really mean by family-oriented?

But he was making a statement more than a question. He even answered his own questions by saying he rather get away from family. So how does that really fit to the topic I made?

And did I ever say we have the same AMOUNT of problem? lol. This thread is to celebrate those who loves family. Not to complain about them. Otherwise I would have made it a "What Do You Dislike About Your Family" thread, which I probably wont anwyay, cuz a lot of the threads are like that. Too many see the negativities of their family that they fail to see the good sides of it.

And yes, there are other severe cases, but hey, its easy to click "CREATE NEW TOPIC" eh?

    Hmmm . .

    I'm one.

Tried to be dependent and away from my family but still ends up

lonely. I need them by my side.

    Unfortunately, that couldn't happen.

^^ LOL. I know how you feel about loneliness. Esp. when you put them high up over barkadas or other stuffs that a lot of people these days treasure.

Well you can move in with them, and still be responsible and help pay the bills, buy them a new TV(HDTV! lol) and stuffs like that.

@edgeowns: I just want to really know what you mean by family-oriented. is it having the attitude or preference of spending lots of time with or being close to one's family, like your example of "who cant live without family" and "getting depressed after reunions"?

Or is it the general idea of valuing or loving one's family? and if it is, does it follow that one should also spend lots of time with them?

Like I said, one can love one's family and yet choose to be away from them because of unhealthy family dynamics. if that's the case, does it make one NOT family-oriented? if one complains about certain family dynamics, does that mean he doesnt value his family anymore?

I'm just suggesting you make it clearer by DEFINITION. and dont you think it's rather unfamily-like to brush off suggestions like this and say "create a new topic"? Besides, istorya is like a family, too.
