Need Help! How to look for the best motherboard / videocard for gaming...

I'm trying to setup a new computer specifically for gaming. I'm having some confusions on what to choose for the motherboard and videocard. I already have this - (Processor:Phenom II X4 965 (3.4G) 8mb), (Memory:4gb Genesis (1800C9D3K2/4G)) - as a gift that was given to me.

My budget for the motherboard is 6K and 10K for the videocard.

I usually play assasin's creed , mass effect, call of duty,splinter cell,need for speed,ghost recon,etc... I usually like action games with story but ofcourse I like to play it with detailed graphics.

hmmm... u should consider a budget for a good powersupply, if u still havent have one... but in general the budget you allocate for videocard and motherboard is good enough, d ka magmahay...

@TS: kindly post the items that you have so that we can also suggest some of the parts that you might also be needing. just like werty said that one of the main concern is the power supply.

mao jd TS. PSU is very important. hehe those new items wont run in their prime if you dont have enough power for them
