Question lang... what makes an Photography Workshop worth attending to?
Price?, Topics?, Trainors/Mentors?

I haven't attended any since most of what they teach can be learned online or books but the advantage of seminar/workshops is that you get immediate feedback from the instructor. Before you join one, find out who the instructor/s is/are, take a look at their portfolios and see whether you'd like to follow their style or adapt them to yours. I taught basic photography in our company last week for free and the participants affirmed learning from it. However, I taught them nothing new, that is, I compressed my 2 years of learning into two hours - a crash course about hand holding, aperture-shutter-ISO, exposure (Zone System), lighting, and composition.
Just be wary of seminar/workshops that you'd regret paying for. Research, ask people who attended (if possible) and then just go for it. If you do, I suggest you sit in the front row so you're not distracted by pretty participants (unless nitapad nimo, he he).
@cmontoya sir im not looking for one, we are the one who will be offering the workshop, we have good mentors here, its a shame if we cant offer sa mga taga cebu... apparently the marketing team sa filmschool have no idea kung unsay gipangita sa taga cebu so nag ask ko if unsa ba jud mostly ganahan nga attendnan sa mga photography enthusiast...
I agree with genghis.
for me ha, sguro it would be better kung something like an advance workshop. workshop wherein dili lang basta2 ma learn. ayaw na sguro ng basic. kay daghan naman mga tao practical ug wise these days. mo ingon man dayon:
"ay, dili nlng ta anang basic workshop oi kay sayon rana. daghan kaau ug e-books, tutorials, videos, and etc. sa internet in which ma aquire ra nato for FREE. ang i bayad nato ug workshop i palit nlng nato ug bag, external flash, and other accessories."
IMHO lang na ha. In My Humble Opinion.![]()

Start with this list but I assure you as long as the models are KKPPGGs, patok sa takilya yan. Sigurado advertise ka 8 am, fully booked before 12 noon. Mu hangyo pa kung pwede pa insert.
To save you the trouble of asking what KKPPGGs are
Kinis kinis puti puti ganda ganda (eh he he he - Rene Requiestas laugh) - From Starzan when Chetae saw Jane taking a bath
Murag ra ni advertising. Maski unsa product, butangi lang diha KKPPGG naka two-piece or maski stimulating clothing, mupalit dyud laki maski di gud kahinanglan. Na biktima nako ana. "Sir, palit na ani spaghetti. It's hot and spicy." Hatagi ko usa ka dosena day. Ehem, unsa imo name ug cellphone number?
Go go go ...
thanks sir, ako ni im hatag nga lists sa taga marketing namo, puro man gud foreigner unya taga manila ug gawas ang usual nila target, mao nga maytana maapil pud ang cebu, actually mo apil man sad ko... pero so far... dili sila mo open ug lain workshop basta gamay ra ang nag enroll...
I'm not a native Cebuano but married to one but in my 16 years here, Cebuanos are a bit er, 'thrifty' so better find a way to minimize the cost but still deliver so 5 star hotels are out as a venueI guess 5 thou is already max but if they know it's worth it, e.g., si Manny Librodo, then maybe they'll pay more.
I suggest you also work with the major Cebu-base photography shops. I'm not sure how you can work with them though maybe participants can get 5% discount off from future purchases, etc.
1. Mentor - sikat ang mentor
2. Price - it won't matter if sikat ang mentor
3. Topic - it won't matter if sikat ang mentor
in that particular order...![]()
