D3100 or NEX C3

ganahan unta ko mag start ug photography as a hobby and dili ko maka decide between sa 2 nga cam as starting na camera

1) what type of photography would you like to get into?
2) budget?
3) availability of accessories and lenses
4) the c3 has no viewfinder; the d3100 has. can you live with it?

also, have you handled the two cameras? which one are you comfortable with? as a sony alpha user, i'd recommend the c3 or the much more capable nex-5n but i am not discounting the d3100, it also has its perks.

I want nex c3 as a backup/spare/travel and ekek ra. But as soon as you get serious in photography, mu palit man gyud ka ug new dslr. correct me if im wrong, dili compatible ang EVIL lens sa dslr? naa guro adaptors but i bet mahal pud kaayu.

If you bought 3100, mu upgrade ka later. You will most likely try to sell it back and buy a new dslr. Ma reuse nimo ang lens. pero kung mag NeX ka, sakit man ni e baligya, for keeps man ni. ^_^

both are greate camera, lahi ra style aning duha. ill choose the camera depende sa style of photography nako. since nahan man ko travel and quick easy none bulky karun, ill take the NEX. but someday nahan man sad ko serious photography with different lens, mag dslr na pud ko ana.

Why? Coz your talking about hobby...and Hobby is no limit!.. You need to fulfill your hobby right? In the next month ganahan naka mag buy ug ie fish eye lens kay ganahan ka sa effect, Next month mag buy nasad ka ug telephoto, Next month mag buy nasad ka ug pang portrait, Next month mag upgrade nasad ka ug DSLR body. as for me is much more advantage ang dslr if imo e hobby ang photography..

Haha bali sad sa akong amigo, after owning the 5n for 6 months gi dispatsar nya iyang nikon gear nya gi pulihan og mga manual lenses. I also have the nex 5n although i dont think i would ever do such a thing as my buddy did, i have to say though the 5n is awesome especially pairing this little beast with fast glass (zeiss 24mm 1.8 ).

im sorry, but looks to me like what you are doing is stockpiling gears. and since its just a hobby, its not an investment at all, that's wasting money. what one should do is master the techniques. A nex and other milcs for that matter, can easily help one do that.

unless you're into action/sports photography and easily accessible buttons, a MILC is more than enough.

sellable ra man ang nex, if you're into ebay and such. tungod kay a lot of people are into adapting legacy lenses, sikat ang nex diha. sa lens naman, unless collector ka, you would only need a few, from 8mm(FE) to 210mm covered na sa nex.

yes. very important gyd kaayo na mahandle ang camera first. how did you find the d3100 man?

i can only speak for the c3, ok ra kaayo xa pang handheld. the tilt screen will help you "shooting from hip", tuck in imo arms, nya suport the camera with your body. lastly, the 18-55 kit lens has optical image stabilization, so handheld shooting shouldn't be a concern at all, not to mention the excellent high-iso capability of the nex. pero i admit, the c3 grip is not that comfortable compared to the nex-5/5n.
