Or had bad experience!
I have to sadly say that NAIA so far is the messiest and ugliest airport I have been to. Eh when is the Philippine government going to open the new airport? NAIA gives a bad image to the country. If you are an investor stepping out of the tube into NAIA, you will think twice of investing. The airport is old and dilapidated, it reeks of filth, even the trolleys there are what I call kagang-kagang. Ako gyud ang mauwaw uy!
One time, I was on a business trip from NL to Pinas last year and I was with my Dutch colleague. The Dutch are very observant and he quickly noticed the terrible state of NAIA. It caught me defensive, so I started explaining that we have a new airport but because of bogus(?) misunderstanding its opening is put on hold. Sus ambot, ako ang nauwaw sa akong nasod. Ilabi na when his trolley wouldn't move because the wheel was stucked. Murag panahon pa ni mampur gibuhat ang trolley! Ay ambot. GGRRR
Another airport that I disliked is the Terminal 2 in Madrid, Spain. The Madrid Barajas airport is huge with 3 terminals hooked like an octopus. Since I was traveling within the EU, I went through Terminal 2 for EU and Schengen Route (Terminal 1 is for International, Terminal 3 is for local Iberian carriers). The airport is designed so strange, the signs were not clear in English and the check-in counters were all line up in this huge corridor like a kilometer away. Your eyes will get dizzy watching the kilometer long counters. It took me 45 minutes running to and fro to find my carrier's check in desk and my suitcase was heavy even with the trolley. Darn I hated that because the qeueu after checking was so long (safety scan check and all), had to stand for 30 minutes and I wanted badly to sit in a cafe before flight and have a nice cup of coffee and ciggy. I ended up rushing to board. Whoever designed that mile long stretch of check in counters is darn stupid and they should make the directions clear in English! It's an international airport, even if the terminal is within the EU, duh.
