THE barangay captain of Guadalupe, Cebu City was accused of hit-and-run by a 25-year-old man Sunday night.
Renante Laurente, 25, said Barangay Captain and City Councilor Eugenio “Jing-Jing” Faelnar even backed into and tried to run him over.
Faelnar admitted hitting a man with his Toyota Fortuner. But he said the incident was blown out of proportion to destroy his political career.

He said he failed to see the man because there was a drizzle that time.

“It was drizzling. I did not see that he was on the left side of the vehicles. I could not see clearly. I only knew I hit something when some people said I did so. Maybe it was a tricycle or a trisikad,” he said.
