Hi,
In the light of increasing frequency of natural and man-made calamities, I suggest we train our dogs for search, rescue and survival. If anyone wants to help organize this initiative please post in this thread. One aim is to provide "AFFORDABLE" training to as many dogs as possible, regardless of breed (even askals will be included).
Just imagine how many lives can be saved in situations such as a major earthquake striking your community, if every sitio or barangay has at least 20 search and rescue dogs. I don't think it is impossible to achieve and even surpass this number - we have dogs in every corner and neighborhood in the Philippines - if only we have affordable and accessible dog trainings.
Another idea I want to propose is that instead of having our dogs trained, we owners have ourselves trained as "dog trainers". This way, we can train our own dogs and also train other dog owners on how they can train their own dogs....yes it's a sort of echo training! We can extend our knowledge on dog training in our very own barangays for free....perhaps also we can insert "responsible dog ownership" into the trainings we will conduct.
what do you think?
