in terms of climatic build-up, i like Pelican - though hardly on the same vein as with Sigur Ros. I would also recommend Mogwai, A Silver Mount Zion, Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Do Make Say Think...

I've only heard of Mogwai from your list. They are an okay band (i think Auto Rock is awesome), but they get real loud at times. The same goes with sigur ros, plus lengthy tracks.

godspeed's sleep concept is pretty much that.. sleep. music for sleeping. hehe.
pelican is kind of awkward for me.

i've been listening to explosions in the sky for awhile now, and i have to say they're quite the good.
