Samsung ST30 Field Test (October 2, 2011)

Three of my friends (Rye, Kiboi and Manuel) and I went downtown to shoot the streets again. My purpose was to field test the Samsung ST30 which I got so I have a cam I can bring with me everyday. It has no manual mode so this is definitely a 100% point and shoot camera. I won't compare its quality to DSLRs or even the Lumix LX5 or Canon S95 because those two are definitely better. I could have gone the S95 route since another friend, Aris, was in Japan and could have bought it there for me cheap but I'd rather spend the money on a 35mm f/2 lens. I read some reviews about the Samsung ST30 and I must agree that despite its poor quality LCD and weird shutter sound, it takes good enough photos for such a light and cheap camera. I'm not sure if you'd agree though so here are some photos straight from the cam (no post processing whatsoever).

@imean: It's actually very usable in daylight but indoors is another story. The use of flash is advisable but I don't use it. Then again, for it's price, I think it's good value for money. I just wished that it offered an easier way to adjust EV and have an exposure indicator on the LCD. I don't like it when the camera decides the exposure for me.
