why not upgrade to VBulletin instead?

i was just wondering ngano dili nalang i-upgrade ang forums into VBulletin? every forum i've been to are using vbulletin na. no offense to anyone, but its SOOO much faster in every way. bisan nag upgrade ang istorya, i still can't tell if there is a difference kato wala pa ga upgrade. im sorry, this is just me thinking out loud.

The upgrade wasn't for speed. It was merely to keep up with the development... and this slowdown is caused by the fact that I am rebuilding the search tables. After this is done, speed would be back to normal.

vBulletin is not for free while SMF is. But that doesn't mean you have to pay in order to increase the speed. The server that hosts the forum is one big factor.

I still recommend SMF over vBulletin and i'm happy Istorya is not moving over to any other forum software.

Oh let me just add, SMF is a user-friendly compared to other forum softwares and i know a lot of very large forums that are using SMF such as pba.ph and SMF support forum which has an average of more than a thousand members logged in at the same time.
