If you did your books right, Mr. veterinary student, should know that you ident this herp all bloody wrong.
What made you deduce that this is a Reticulated python? Head morph, scalation, color pattern, etc.? You don't even know half of it, do you now?
Little knowledge is DANGEROUS, mate...
This is a B. cynodon or the Dog-toothed Catsnake. Arboreal, nocturnal colubrid with a mild venom. This herp expectorates a foul-smelling liquid when agitated, which sticks to skin & clothing. And it's tad dangerous when it gets into your mucous membranes, such as your twinkies.
Now based on your photo, this snake looks perfectly healthy. Aside from the fact that it belongs to the wild and not in your backyard. Body morph of this snake is as it is. It's a slender serpent with a prehensile tail, laterally compressed body built for treetops & arboreal environ. It might have parasites, which you should not worry yourself about in the 1st place. This species does not fair bloody good in captivity. Survivability rate of such are about slim to none. You need specialized conditions to house them, not so much for it's tukka.
Lastly, i STRONGLY DISAGREE giving this herp a shot of Ivermectin, or for any herps in general. These phosphate-based anti-parasitics are made for farm animals and not for reptiles. These are not bloody wonderdrugs to play about. You'll end up killing the bloody snake than helping it.
Any more queries, PM me mate...
Cheers!!!
