^^ naa jud nay wear and tear
ako sis i used to get attached to my books. used to have so many (as in cartons of them). then one day i saw the yellowed pages and thought, "ka sayang ani oi, na yellow nalang then wala kaayu nabasa except nako." so from that time on i saw books differently, ako na gi share (hatag, pahulam, even sold some). i also move around a lot and lugging cartons of books is the most difficult thing, and so now i dont buy books anymore. good thing we have e-books and this! i am for book trading.
kasabot sad ko aning concern for our books sa, so maybe what you can do is swap your book with 2 or more books. risgo man jud ipahulam ang imong book, so to offset the risk, make sure you get more reading opportunities out of it. dunno if this works for you though.
na pa jud koy pakapin i share: people who don't understand would say, "kalas2x lang ka kwarta sigeg palit og libro." they don't understand that books per se are not the investment, but the knowledge and "experience" gained from it. book pages get loose, torn, yellow, etc., but the knowledge is not lost. it's in your consciousness or subconsciousness.
okay, so i have a few here:
*who wants to have an Oxford dictionary? i don't use it anymore
*Killing Time in a Warm Place (Jose Dalisay Jr.)
*how about a Beatles Love CD? i don't listen to it much.
*naa pod koy booklets on learning French and other languages
just give value in return (money, book swap temp or permanent)
@TS thanks for this thread
