I just read this article and it reminded of a time when my college friends and I would go to the mall instead of working on our thesis. I admit, procrastination is wrong, however, hanging out at SM North on a Thursday afternoon watching cute boys go by was just too darn tempting! (Hey, I was 20 and single. Go figure) Funny thing, we actually got an A. Something about a late-night, caffeine induced study session brought out our greatest work ever.
Which brings me to Mr. Tamad, the epic poster-boy of laziness in the Philippines. I remember dozens of GMRC (Good Morals and Right Conduct) books citing how we should avoid becoming like him. But now, I think he is awesome. The fact that most of the land belonged to Spanish era meant that we Indios cannot pick the fruit from the tree. But if it fell on your head, its anybody's game.
So should we be ashamed of dear Mr. Tamad? Or shall we just use his ingenuity to propel ourselves?
Hmmmm....
