Default need help with wireless broadband router!

    Hello PC wizards!

I have globeline prolink h9200 ADLS modem. I want to go wireless at home so I bought a linksys 2.4ghz (802.11g)broadband router/access point. Im having problem setting it up.

WHen I run the Cd and follow the instructions, when it finally reaches the point of "checking for internet connection" not found kono.

Is it even possible to use a router with this globeline ADSL modem?

Kong naay mga tech diha nga pwede mo set up ani, please message me or contact me at 09192025779.

Jugs, call your internet provider and give them your router's Mac # located at the bottom of the linksys box so they can add it in. Those numbers shoud start with 00 (combination of numbers and letters). Try that route first. It should work, if not you need to go into configuration and if that doesn't work too, try cloning

@junmar - yes bai mo work man kong direct modem to pc. Ive done this set up before with my roadrunner cable modem and it worked fine, only not with globelines ADSL modem. Maybe streetcar is right, I may need to ask globelines to add my mac address.

But as of now, I guess I cant use it.

This already happened to me too few weeks ago. Some ISP do not support Linksys. Like mine i have Comcast. They have their own wireless networking and they make you pay for that but told them i already have Linksys so i dont need their wireless networking. But if you have your own, they dont support it. I had to call for them to add back my Linksys Mac # because i could not connect to the internet. It was actually there before and someone there had removed it. Once they did that, it was fine.

Well, Ive tried what seeteemashuu was saying on the other tread but I still cant get it running. Im not sure if Im doing something else wrong. I guess I could try and give glove a call and have them add my mac #. But If any of you knows anyone willing to do this for me for a reasonable price please let me know. I live in Talisay City.

    Thanks!

i have that problem also when i installed my wireless longtime ago...

please change the local IP of your router to any IP except the IP of the globe/isp modem which is i think at
    192.168.1.1,

the default IP of the router and ur modem is the same which is 192.168.1.1 which can cause conflict sa internet connection,

u must change the router IP to 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.3.1 or to in between 192.168.100.1 kay sobra na sad ug moabot pa ta 255

    hope this help...
