Try to use another USB-port on your desktop computer.

Part of USB ports are mounted on mainboard directly and they provide good power for connected devices.

But part of them are mounted on computer case and are connected by wires to mainboard and these ports sometimes fail to give good power to connected devices.

But the best solution is to get wall-charger and use it to charge the battery.

After that you can just charge it on regular basis via USB.
