this anime has recently started last april and certainly has the potential to give Death Note a run for its money. XD the story's pretty complicated, but if you stick to it, things eventually make sense.

Here's a summary of what I understood so far:

Ten years ago, an impenetrable field called "Hell's Gate" appeared in Tokyo. A week after it first appeared, beings with special abilities called "Contractors" appeared. They have absolutely no conscience or human emotion and kill people in cold blood. The main character in the story is this masked figure called "Hei" who battles these contractors in the pursuit of unlocking the mysteries of "Hell's Gate". Ironically enough, he happens to be a contractor himself. During the day, he is Lee Shen Shun - an ordinary student who works part time and came all the way from China. He is kind and compassionate to people, but merciless to his enemies.

He reminds me of L from Death Note. Similarities include the hair, the eyes (sort of) and the appetite. Heck, the series reminds me of Death Note - the way the plot thickens, twists and unravels and leaves you stunned at the outcome. I highly recommend you guys watch it.

the first episode is really confusing, some plot points remind me of rahxehphon from the same creators.. libog kau and medyo boring, the 2nd and 3rd episodes pick up but add more to the confusion, thankfully nice ang drawing and animation especially ang iyang pagkaHD (hi def) fine kaau ang drawing.. and i thnk it gets exciting with every new episode..

Nezumix22: ana gyud na. XD pieces take forever to fall into place, but when they do it gets better...and things start making more sense. i'll be waiting around for the episodes for this one. na intriga ko maau.

Yes, nakaintriga gyud, murag daghan ug mga connections si who and si who then naa silay mga what and what.. hehehehe... that's why usahay maglabad gyud akong ulo kay grabe kaau ka bitin ang isa ka episode, remember the first ep? murag napa haa!!! gyud ko ato, wala ko mabusog, murag episodes 1-3 nila kay isa ka episode. hehehe.. nevertheless, nice gihapon..

i like the art, but i'm gonna wait for my lucky star to finish. aya hirano stuff is top priority.

from what i've heard from my otaku friends, good story. we'll see.
