Default Foxconn Quantum Force is back with X79

Foxconn Quantum Force is back with X79

Lucky enough, we have spotted a great looking black and red themed board in one of the darkest rooms within COMPUTEX and this somehow rekindles our memories back to the days of first black and red board from Foxconn Quantum Force series : BloodRage. It is certainly pleasing to hear that Foxconn is determined to get back on track with their Quantum Force brand and will put up their best showing it with their X79 boards. A slew of buttons on the board for OC purposes can be found on the board with a really neat looking PWM area. There are also 14 SATA ports, the most we have seen so far among the rest of the other brands X79 boards. This quad channel memory, quad PCIe x16 slots beast is slated for launch in Q4 this year and will clearly get some enthusiasts excited.

most of these X79 motherboards will be using the new 50A-rated driver MOS on a 6 or 12phase power, depending on the manufacturer/model(low or high end)...poscaps are also use in the vrm area...

as for the rams, the Sandybridge-E has two(2) dual-channel memory controllers located on both sides of the die that is why you see two ram slots on both sides of the procie...it is to reduce memory latency issues...its easier for the processor to talk to the rams this way rather than routing the trace lines...

as for the heatsink, goodbye pushpins...

the only bad side about all the X59/Z59 boards is the memory placement with people using tall memory heatsinks like Dominator GT or Vengeance w/ Huge CPU Coolers hahaha. Although H50/H60/H70, Antec H20 Series should work without problems.

Why sorry? X79 won't be out in 6 months ? and its awesome!

X79 requires a new processor(lga2011), since it has a new socket.
and from what i read X79 processors aka Ivy-Sandy Bridge processors are going to be more expensive than sandy bridge(1155)

While firm specifications aren't yet available, preliminary information points to a 3.3GHz six-core or eight-core chip with plenty of cache, and prices as high as $1,000.
