fyi lang bro ha...if you check the DENR administrative order, most if not all the species under the varanus genus (including of course the monitor lizard) is listed there. however, if you check the IUCN Red List, this specie is listed as 'least concern'. nevertheless, the population of the monitor lizards in our country is decreasing mostly because of pouching (a lot of people like to eat them). whether it is legal to buy/sell/trade this specie, i am not entirely sure, better check na lang with DENR kay basin ma problema pa ka later..
