    Default Idea for istorya.net this summer

    naay ni suggest na friend na ko, naka observe daw cya daghan2x istoryan nahan magpatudlo ug programming OR about design.

    ni suggest cya since summer pa man karn,
    how bout mag "Istorya.net Summer camp programming and design workshop" ta!
    iopen nato to all istoryans.

    topics na ako nahuhunaan kay
    -Programming in C/C++, java or C#
    -data structure and algorithm
    -Object oriented designs and concepts
    -Design Patterns
    -I even want to teach 3d Programming for those interested.

    To make it more interesting butangan nato 'interesting' projects like
    - build games or any application interested
    - build site

    ang topics dpendi sa demand and available instructor. Willing ko mo teach ug akng friend.
    naa ra guro ta small amount na registration para sa instructors and sa place.

    Mahulog ni cya na murag review for students.

    what do you think?

    nya ang mag teach kay kanang mga senior istoryan members na mga engineers,
    by seniors dapat 5 or more years na nag work as a professional software engineer.

    this is a nice idea... hope it will succeed.
    by the way bro, how about sa 3D programming? can you elaborate more on this...baka makatulong. thanks.

    dependi sa demand sa mo participate, im thinking about teaching 3d programming starting with
    3d concepts and the idea behind 3d rendering.

    akng idea kay start lang sa ug software rasterization para makasabot ang mga taw how Directx or opengl works. Kay if mo jump ta either directx or opengl basin mag nosebleed ang mga taw.

    SO mao ni na sequence akng gihunahuna..

    - 3d math walkthrough; matrix, vectors and trigonometry review. Applying math to 3D programming will be discussed also.
    - 3D concept using software rasterization. This is VERY important.
    Discuss fixed function pipeline of directx 9 or the rendering pipeline of OGL.
    - Begginer graphics API (Directx or OpenGL) workshop.
    - and sa mga mopadayun ug dli mo undang kay, all about game development
    ang i discuss like
    -- collision detection and/or physics.
    -- HLSL
    -- Scene management
    -- etc.

    Then if directx man gani ang ma choose sa mga taw, i will discuss starting from dx 7and dx8(briefly) to dx 9(focused).
    Since jumping directly to dx10 is not realistic IF wla clay idea how directx worked and evolved, anyways dx10 is more on shaders(unified shaders to be exact).

    ofcourse people that will join 3d workshop must have at least intermediate to advance knowledge of OO, C++ and Win32 programming.
    so therefore, the following prerequistes will also be thought;
    - intermediate C/C++ or C#(for those who wants to do it in XNA)
    - OO concepts and design patterns
    - Win32 basic programming

    @MarkCuering
    -maybe you can contribute something

    pwedi ni nato padayunon, ngita lang ta ug place asa, if ang moparticipate naa nay mga laptop then wla problema ang place, pero if wla clay mga laptop, ngita mi ug internet cafe na mosponsor

    basta naa na koy nahunahunaan na workshop output para ma interested ang mga taw;

    Though summer is about or is near to end, this is a very nice idea. Hope others will share and contribute to this endeavor.

    currently bro wala ako sa pinas, i'm planning to let my sister or brother attend this one. i have a 3D programming knowledge also, but im more inline to engineering side like AutoCAD 3D, PDMS, Aveva Marine 12. I have a some knowledge in DirectX and OpenGL, but when it comes to my daily job, we are using Spatial Technology see: www(dot)spatial(dot)com they provide wide variety of libraries na. perhaps I can contribute some elective topics which can be brought on real market.

    the topics above are extremely not for ordinary students or young professionals, this for somebody who truly dedicate their time for the subject with real job.

    Mas better pang maghandle ka nlng ng seminars then with some small fees

    base on what I see here, most posts asking help were just wanderers, ung tipong basta makapost lng at magkaroon ng +1 sa kanila post LOL.

    I just hope serious people with same interest as yours may stumble on your post and i'm one of those.

    I remember meron din nag organize dito, about 30 person ata nag confirm, but on actual meeting only 4 persons attend very unprofessional.

    yeah we also realized that, that is why the topic is more on programming workshop lang (on my original post) and optional lang ang 3d programming, it will be open only to those interested.
