if you want to use the device mainly for games, music, movies--then get the itouch
if you want the convenience of being able to call/text as well--get the iphone..
however, the disadvantage of having both features is that you will tend to overuse it and thus you will drain out your battery more quickly and in the end, you won't have anything. wala kay phone.. wala kay ipod.
