Converting .mp4 to .avi need help.

I converted a movie which is .mp4 file format to .avi file and saved it in USB. I tried playing it on my DVD player using usb but it will not work, an error occured " codec not supported ". I checked the properties of my converted files, it was .avi, I also check the capability of my dvd player, its a divx certified an basically can play .avi file format. I tried playing another movie which has .avi file using usb and it can play well. I tried playing my converted .avi files to a PC and it will play well. Am I mssing something?

Heres the exact format I selected during converting ( I am using Any Video Converter Pro ):

Profile : customized AVI movie ( *.avi )
Video codec: xvid - since theres no divx on the list
Bitrate: 536 ( Im trying to follow the bitrate computation )
Frame size: 1080 X 720
Frame rate : 24

Audio codec: ac3
Audio bitrate: 320
Sample bitrate:48000
