Core i3 2100 vs Phenom II X4 840

it came into my interest between the same price point budget CPUs: a quad core AMD vs a shiny dual core intel Sandy Bridge: Core i3 2100 (3.1Ghz) vs Phenom II X4 840 (3.2Ghz)
It might look like it's a no contest, quad vs dual core. But i have seen the reviews.. i'm seeing the potential of the intel SNB

the intel SNB solution cost a little more than the quad AMD solution. I am convinced that the intel generally performs much better in reviews, in terms of performance, especially gaming.


which one will you choose, say if you want to build a gaming system..(for me that's what desktop are built for nowadays, i use a laptop for everything else) ?

intel lang brad...if the budget is not an issue...ako i own a phenom II x4 945 pero ok ra man ko coz thats wahat i only need man sad...

depende ra sad sa imo kinahanglan/preference

if your budget is not issue go for intel nalang.

for me, even if on a a somewhat high budget (10k for nice LCD, 10k for a nice video card). Bang for the buck still matters.

if you budget somewhat with 5k on a processor, you might be looking at AMD since they have good quad cores on that range. but if you look at intel on that range on intel you only get a dual core i3 SNB. but that doest mean than the intel is not giving the bang for the buck if ever you get core i3 over the AMD quad.

yeah, i think so. at the processor component. platform aside.

even if we go up a little higher (same 9K pricepoint)

Six-core AMD Phenom X6 1055T (6C/6T)
vs
Quad Core i5 2400 4C/4T

intel will easily beat the six-core. so does that mean intel has always the edge on bang for the buck?

Kung ako papilion. Adto ko sa mas barato nga CPU.

Why invest a CPU nga 5% ra ng performance increase. Invest more on video cards and get a 24" LCD Display.

if when it comes to budget i prefer amd coz amd user pd q.. and for me it really performs well..
