The Samsung Galaxy 551 packs in a mediocre 667 MHz processor which seems to the job in most tasks. It’s pretty fast and smooth when browsing through the phone’s menus and the animations play out decently too.

The phone itself sports a 3.15 MP camera with autofocus and records video at poor rate of 15FPS at QVGA. In spite of the phone not wooing the eyes of many folks, the Samsung Galaxy 551 is already pre-installed with Android 2.2 (Froyo).

In terms of design, the phone is bulky as it has an undercarriage for the QWERTY keyboard. I am not a fan of QWERTY keyboard phones as they tend to cause problems especially when it comes to the “flex” cable which is the cable between the screen and the main unit. I had a terrible experience with my previous Nokia phone.
