    Just a couple of guide lines before posting;

As much as possible vote and post what you voted for and why, also add the device you've experienced with and other OS/hardware that you had experience with , try not to piss in each others faces and minimize the fanboyism posts ( you know who you are )

I voted for Andriod since its simply the best OS for me, 100% open source aside from proprietary drivers on the hardware, a tweakers/geeks dream of an OS.. No need to wait for manufacturer fixes with the right skill anyone can major and minor issues. Phone experience: HTC Desire, Desire HD and Samsung Galaxy S ( currently owned )

I've also been a long time Symbian user from Nokia way back since the 5110 - 6110, they make good phone design but they have bee behind the times lately.

Also had a short term experience with iOS, Iphone 3GS ( for 4-5 months ) Iphone 4 ( 2 months ), I dislike having to JB for the risk of warranty to just change some minor things in the phone, but it works well out of the box and has a very easy and quick learning curve, also the games in iOS are a billion times better than andriod.

Had some experience with WinMo 6.5 ( I forgot the phone model, about 2 weeks ) and 1 month from HTC HD7.

Also had experience with Bada 1.0 from Samsung Wave, about 2 months pretty good OS that works out of the box same target with iOS and WP7.

    EDIT:

Forgot to add about Windows CE but that thing doesnt matter anymore

voted for iOS for apps. Probably the first intuitive phone UI, makes clicking through things less "stressful."

Windows Mobile 2003 with HTC or O2 XDA II -- first taste of smartphone customization, first taste of phone brick but quickly remedied (also WM5 and WM6 ROMs).
Windows Mobile 6.0 - 6.5.x with the first Samsung Omnia (lack of support made me dump the phone).

Nokia 7650, Sony Ericsson P800 -- first modern smartphones? (hulos lng)

    Android ko..hehehe..

Android (Google) - Climbing, slowly but surely, to the top of the mobile OS wars and will kick symbian's *ss eventually..heheh
    IOS (Apple) - too expensive..hehehe
    Symbian (Nokia) - too old
RIM (Blackberry) - not really a fan of keypads
Windows Mobile (Microsoft) - it's developed by Microsoft, need i say more?
Web OS (Palm) - will collaborate with microsoft
Bada (Samsung) - still needs to prove itself
Maemo (Intel Moblin) - can only be used in nokia phones(N900,N810,N800)

my personal choice would be, in particular order.

    1. iOS - just love it.
    2. Blackberry OS - one of the best when it comes to business.
    3. windows 6.5 or below - the development was great at his time
    4. windows 7 - lots of restrictions, same as iphone but i like how it looks
    5. symbian - series 60 and 80... i like nokia communicator
    6. android - tried 3 times... nice but not my type atm.
    7. palm OS - it was ok

    i would like to try,
    meego and maemo
