Its the same software, just under a new name. Maybe Ewido was bought by AVG or is even a part of AVG, dont know.

But slightly better is CounterSpy. I also changed from ewido to counterspy, less FP.

Counterspy just find more spyware and traces of spyware. I had ewido/avg antispyware, did a full scan with updated signatures, and after that, did a full scan with counterspy with updated signatures and counterspy still found threats which ewido did not find (and I am talking about threats, not cookies).
All of my computer are connected: DSL->Router (additional firewall rules added to drop any gromozon site) -> PC
PC has: Lock 'n Stop Firewall, peerguardian 2, nod32 and counterspy.
So far, NO infection or trojan at all.
