I watched the premier of "P-MAX" in RPN 9 last night and I can't help but admire
the show. P-max is the highest rating show in Queensland Australia (Briz 31 tv).
Presenters are Filipinos but majority of the staff and crew are Australians and shot
here in the Philippines. I know very much the director and producer of the
show. He's an Australian director (directed the movies Sons of Steel and Knightmare)
who has high regard for Filipino talents. P-max was born last year, August 8,2005 to be exact.
The show was test marketed for 52 episodes on Briz31tv, Queensland Australia and accidentally became the most popular show.
P-MAX is a revolutionary medium of entertainment that thrills, astounds, educates, entertains
and yet manages to leave audiences totally confused. The show is crazy, wild, naughty, but brilliant!
I have heard a lot of feedbacks from my friends and they loved the show!
Pmax is in "What's Hot" on Globe 3G. Just go to MyGlobe then proceed to "What's Hot". Then choose Pmax.
For you guys who wants to know about this show, here is the synopsis. And don't forget to watch it
every Thursday 10:30pm on RPN 9.
SYNOPSIS
From his dark side of the moon studios, MAX interrupts targeted television broadcasts on Earth. Why? Because it’s in the script.
MAX has a way with words. He has an opinion on everything which he uses to influence while seeking to invade the minds of the human population of earth with his propaganda. For what reason? You may well ask, well MAX is a hologram planted on the moon by an alien race and set to be triggered into broadcasting in the 21st century. Why this diabolical plan? To eventually build a large enough audience so he can manipulate them into realising they are being manipulated by others. Amongst his witticisms MAX has a segment called ‘PIC OF THE WEEK’ where he brings crap he has found on the net. Pictures, videos information with little value to us other than making us smile.
MAX has multiple personalities and these manifest throughout his dialogue, when mid sentence MAX will morph into one of his alter egos; iMAX, for instance, a man who also have multiple personalities ranging from a sophisticated academic to a Scottish football mad nutter. He presents a segment called ‘the iMAX NEWS’ the news that didn’t make the news .. the good news. Or perhaps the female side of MAX might emerge, either MAXCINE, a lass who wears her heart on her sleeve singing her way through life totally oblivious of life’s realities like murder, hate and footpath doggy doo, no, MAXCINE is purity personified, in other words; MAXCINE is a hopeless romantic. Or the personality shift might be MAXINE DUH, the complete opposite of MAXCINE. DUH, brings us segments like ‘Flick Crit’ where she tries to review movies but can’t because she’s way too dumb or her other segment ‘Celeb Rap’ where she tries to interview famous people but has difficulty because they’ve never heard of her or the show. Then there is BAKITHEAD, a man with a bucket on his head who really because of his disposition has nothing to offer anyone. Or NOSTRAL DAMUS the soothsayer, medium, visionary and idiot with his connect the numbers book ‘The Future by Numbers’, which can be used to mysteriously predict the future. There are other personalities on P-MAX, like PROFESSOR BUMFACE master of stupidity from Bong Bong Island, somewhere in the Pacific, artist BONG DA VINCI, estranged and uncertified Filipino relative of Leonardo Da Vinci, AUSSIE BRUCE, a scoundrel who can turn up anywhere. BRUCE sells pirated DVD’s (cheaply, good deals really) and UNMAX, a impersonator living in Brisbane Australia who decided to buy a small transmitter to interrupt P-MAX in order to get even with MAX for interrupting his favourite TV programs. Finally NORA NIPPLE a male impersonator who offers social commentary of the gutter variety.
There you have it, the whole box and dice.
P-MAX is only limited by your imagination.
