Lucky if you have parents there to give you allowance and be spoon fed by them. I worked my way through school and a job and i provide my own allowance from my part-time job while schooling

I took care of myself and became self-sufficient at an early age I never learned to depend on anyone for my needs.

i think it's a gender thing. I read somewhere that:
a woman's tendency is to save for future needs and stretch whatever she has
a man's tendency is to think that money always comes
